What am I responsible to and for?

I am sure all my fellow Barefooter's are saying we just heard Dr. Roy King preach about that this weekend and your right.  I just wanted to take a little of what I got out of this message and what God has been showing me for a few weeks now.

First we will make it simple and restate Roy's WHAT acronym of Words, Heart Attitude, Actions and Thoughts for the things we are responsible for.  Simple stuff here, someone makes you mad and you cuss them out! You and only you are responsible for your words, heart attitude, actions and thoughts.  I know for myself this whole theory rocks my world.  Keeping this in mind makes me have to rethink, act and respond to things that happen. I love this and know it will change our lives if we put it into action so I am not even going to discuss it further, just put it to work and see what happens.

I do want to take the Responsible To part further. I am responsible (as a Christian) to show Love to EVERYONE! Not just those that are nice to me, but to those who hate me, who are my enemy, Everyone period. Matthew 5:43-48 says, "⁴³ “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’^[a] and hate your enemy. ⁴⁴ But I say, love your enemies!^[b] Pray for those who persecute you! ⁴⁵ In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. ⁴⁶ If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. ⁴⁷ If you are kind only to your friends,^[c] how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. ⁴⁸ But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."

I am responsible (as a Christian) to be an example to others by being like this passage in Romans 12:1-2 "¹ And so, dear brothers and sisters,^[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.^{[b] 2} Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." 

God wants us as Christians to be different than the world in our actions, our looks, what we wear, what we say, what we do... in everything we should try to live holy and acceptable to GOD not our wants or likes.  It is our responsibility to live in a manner pleasing to God and Train our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to do the same.  We do not do good works to earn our way to heaven but to show God we want to act in a manner that is pleasing to Him, so He gets the glory. 

Take a chance and be different, try to stand out from the world by not doing the things it does.  Wear clothing that is pleasing to God not a stumbling block to others.  Be the best example of a Christian instead of the stereotype that has been set before us. 

If you ask why we should be different, I have one simple answer... Because God sent his only son Jesus to die for your sins and without Him your entire existence would be worth nothing. Try to live a life that shows you actually feel unworthy and have gratitude to God for saving you.  It is my life's mission to try and live a life that shows Honor to God in all I do.  I will fall short and must grow and learn everyday.. That is the beauty of what God allows for us to do...Grow and learn to do better and be better than we were the day before.  With God we can be perfect but in us we will always fail... Live with God.
